Former Germany international, Mesut Ozil, has fondly recalled his remarkable on-field connection with Cristiano Ronaldo during their time together at Real Madrid.
The duo played alongside each other for three seasons, sharing the pitch for 149 games and combining for 39 goal contributions, with Ronaldo scoring 32 of them.
Their partnership yielded three titles, including one La Liga championship. Ronaldo’s impressive goal-scoring form during that period saw him net at least 53 times in each campaign, totaling 168 goals in 164 games across competitions.
In a recent interview, Ozil reminisced about their telepathic understanding, stating, “Cristiano Ronaldo understood me very well on the pitch. I used to give him a lot of assists, and he used to score a lot of goals.” Ozil has since retired from professional football, but the memories of their on-field synergy remain vivid.
