Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has inaugurated the re-introduction of the monthly environmental sanitation exercise campaign in Lagos State, aimed at promoting a clean and healthy environment.
The exercise, which was a culture in Lagos State years back, seeks to encourage community participation in waste management and reduce the risk of disease outbreaks.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony held at Campus Square, Lagos Island, Governor Sanwo-Olu urged all residents and stakeholders to cooperate in making the exercise a success.
“The cooperation of all residents and stakeholders is crucial in making this exercise a success. Let us work together to restore the cleanliness and beauty of our dear state,” Sanwo-Olu said.
The monthly environmental sanitation exercise is expected to hold on the last Saturday of every month, with residents and businesses expected to participate in cleaning their surroundings and disposing of waste properly.
