Governor Seyi Makinde on Friday presented the staff and instruments of office to the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, Ige Olakulehin 1.
The ceremony, which took place at Mapo Hall in Ibadan, saw the governor formally recognize the new monarch. Governor Makinde, while presenting the staff of office, declared, “They said they want to sabotage, they want to sabotage, we are here today at Mapo Hall. I, Engineer Seyi Makinde, the Governor of Oyo State by the virtue of power conferred on me, hereby present the staff of office to the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland. “Let us say Kabiesi!”
The event marked a significant milestone in the history of Ibadanland, as Oba Olakulehin formally received the symbols of his new role. The presentation was attended by dignitaries and stakeholders from across the state.
