US President Joe Biden sparked a diplomatic blunder on Wednesday when he mistakenly introduced Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as Russian President Vladimir Putin at a NATO ceremony.
The gaffe occurred as Biden attempted to hand over the microphone to Zelensky, saying, “Now I want to hand it over to the president of Ukraine, who has as much courage as he has determination. Ladies and gentlemen, President Putin.”
However, Biden quickly realized his mistake and corrected himself, saying, “I’m so focused on beating President Putin, we’ve got to worry about it.”
The incident has raised eyebrows, coming at a time when Biden is facing intense scrutiny over his fitness to serve. Despite the mistake, Biden’s commitment to supporting Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression remains unwavering.
