Three people have been killed in Russian strikes on southern Ukraine, including the Black Sea port of Odesa, according to authorities.
Governor Oleg Kiper said: “The aggressor targeted port infrastructure in the Odesa region. Unfortunately, two people were killed — a security guard and a truck driver.”
The southern defence forces reported that Russia launched a ballistic missile and four guided missiles at the southern port, but three enemy Kh-59/Kh-69 missiles were intercepted.
In a separate incident, a 62-year-old man was killed in Russian shelling on the southern city of Nikopol.
The air force announced that 14 out of 20 drones launched over Ukraine were destroyed.
This latest development comes two days after a rare daytime attack on the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, killed 34 people, according to Kyiv’s military administration.
Russia has been carrying out nightly attacks on cities across Ukraine since its invasion in February 2022.
