WWE legend John Cena announced his plans to retire from in-ring competition in 2025 during the WWE Money in the Bank event in Toronto, Canada.
Cena, a 16-time world champion, revealed that the 2025 Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas would be his final appearances.
Cena, donning a ‘John Cena Farewell Tour 2025’ attire, expressed his gratitude to his fans, stating, “I’ve been in the WWE for over two decades, and in that time, I’ve seen incredible waves of prosperity like we got right now. WWE is the hottest ticket in town, no doubt, but I have also seen true hardship, that’s when no one knows your name, nobody wants to be your friend, and only the most dedicated and hardcore fans stand by your side.”
The wrestler-turned-actor also expressed his desire to be involved when Raw moves to Netflix in January, a historic move for the company. Cena made his WWE debut in 2002 and has been a part-time performer since 2018, focusing on his movie career.
Cena’s announcement was met with a mix of emotions from the crowd, who chanted “Thank you, Cena” in appreciation of his dedication to the sport. The WWE legend’s farewell tour is expected to be a grand finale to his illustrious career, and fans are eagerly awaiting his final performances.
