The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has reaffirmed the suspension of Kano State Governor, Abbah Yusuf, till December, and the expulsion of its Presidential Candidate in the 2023 general election, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Elder Buba Galadima, and the entire national working committee led by Dr. Ahmed Ajuji.
In a statement by the Party’s National Secretary, Mr. Oginni Olaposi Sunday, in Abuja, the party announced a strategic stakeholders meeting in Abuja later this month to address pressing internal matters and reinforce the expulsions.
The meeting, according to Sunday, is crucial for the advancement of democracy and development of the party ahead of the 2027 general elections. He emphasized that all party leaders, elders, and elected members, including those holding sensitive positions, are mandated to attend.
Sunday warned that anti-party activities by elected members ahead of the 2027 general election will have consequences, and reiterated that the party’s constitution is supreme for all members, without prejudice to the grand norm of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He expressed hope that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will respect the essence of internal democracy and inherent objectives for growth and sustenance of democracy in Nigeria.
