In a bid to enhance its membership registration process and prepare for the 2027 elections, the Labour Party (LP) has announced the development of a mobile app.
The app, which will be available for download on mobile devices, will enable Nigerians both at home and abroad to register as party members seamlessly.
According to Ambassador Aju Elumelu, Deputy Director of Media and Communications for the Labour Party Mobilization & Integration Directorate, the app will offer a range of features. These include access to exclusive content, participation in party activities, and real-time updates. Additionally, members will be able to donate and support party activities directly through the app.
Elumelu stated, “Our members and potential members expect easy-to-use, secure digital solutions. This app will allow them to register, track their membership status, and stay informed about party news and events.”
The proposal, submitted to the LP National Working Committee (NWC) and endorsed by National Chairman Barr. Julius Abure, aims to modernize the party’s operations and provide accurate member data for strategic planning. Abure emphasized the app’s potential to transform the party’s mobilization efforts, enabling the recruitment of millions of new members.
“This platform will offer real-time membership figures globally, reflecting our membership and voting strength,” Abure said. “We propose developing a mobile application to streamline the registration process, manage membership profiles, and provide a platform for engagement between party members and leaders.”
