The family of late e-commerce pioneer, Nick Imudia, has dismissed reports that he died by suicide, describing the claims as “untrue” and “hasty”.
In a statement, the family expressed disappointment at the media’s handling of the news, stating that investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of death.
The family denied reports of farewell calls to his brother and daughter, and described Imudia as “full of life” with no signs of stress or depression. They urged the media and public to allow them to grieve without spreading unfounded rumors.
The Lagos State Police Commissioner’s office has vowed to investigate the sudden death, with the homicide section at SCID, Yaba, handling the case. The family requests a professional investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding Imudia’s passing.
Imudia, former CEO of Konga and D.light International, was in Lagos for a brief visit before his sudden death on June 25. His family and colleagues remember him as a vibrant and accomplished individual, and his death has come as a shock to many.
