England captain Harry Kane has revealed that he and Jude Bellingham are putting in extra effort to develop their partnership on the pitch, despite the team’s underwhelming performance at Euro 2024.
Speaking to The Independent, Kane emphasized the importance of communication and analysis in improving their teamwork. “We watched clips of the Denmark game to see how we can play better… We’re moving really well, and I thought it was a lot better than the first two games.”
Kane acknowledged that their partnership is still in its early stages, but expressed confidence in Bellingham’s abilities. “Jude has dealt with the pressure unbelievably well for his age… He believes in himself 100 percent, and from both of our points of view, we want to go out there and start stepping up our levels.”
England faces Slovakia in the last-16 tie, and Kane is hopeful that their hard work will pay off. “We’re hoping that as the tournament goes on, we grow more and more… It’s two games, it isn’t the end of the world. We want to go out there and start stepping up our levels.”
With both players being the only England scorers at the tournament, their improved partnership could be the key to unlocking England’s potential in the knockout stages.
A win for England against Slovakia will set up a quarter-final tie against Switzerland, who defeated Italy on Saturday.
