Nigerian music sensation, Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has sparked controversy after alleging that his twin brother and former PSquare bandmate, Peter Okoye (Mr P), stole his song.
Rudeboy took to Instagram to expose the alleged theft, revealing that Mr P’s recent release, “Winning,” was originally written and sung by him. He claimed that the producer, who worked with him on the song, hijacked it and gave it to Mr P, who then recorded it word for word.
“Song title: Winning. Written and sang by Rudeboy. Produced by same producer. Now how come? Now am I supposed to release another version? Mr Producer, your case is for another day,” Rudeboy wrote.
He further expressed frustration, stating that he had submitted six songs to the management, only for them to re-sing his song. “Just a simple thing: Bring 6 songs, let me bring 6 songs. I Submitted 6 songs to the so-called management. Why re-singing my own song? word for word. Song that was supposed to be in my album next year, June.”
Rudeboy issued a stern warning, threatening to release the original versions of any replicated songs. “The days of manipulation are over!! And to the management, make I hear any song wey na only me sing, I go release the original version. Oloriburuku! Music is not that hard!,” he declared.
The PSquare breakup has led to a series of public disputes between the twin brothers. This latest controversy adds fuel to the ongoing feud.
