The Supreme Court has reserved judgment on a suit filed by 16 state governments challenging the constitutionality of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and other agencies.
Kogi State initially filed the suit, with 15 other states joining as co-plaintiffs, including Enugu, Benue, Anambra, Plateau, Cross-River, Niger, Ondo, Edo, Oyo, Ogun, Nasarawa, Kebbi, Katsina, Sokoto, and Jigawa.
The Apex Court had earlier scheduled the hearing for October 2022. Meanwhile, the Attorneys General of Ebonyi, Anambra, and Adamawa have withdrawn from the matter.
The seven-member panel, chaired by Justice Uwani Abba-Aji, will deliver its judgment on a later date.
