Fuji musician, Taye Currency, has issued a public apology to his senior colleague, Pasuma, following a controversy sparked by his recent comment.
Taye Currency had stated that Pasuma is more like an elder brother than a father figure in the music industry, which generated backlash on social media.
In a viral video, Taye Currency expressed regret for any offense caused by his remarks, emphasizing his loyalty to Pasuma. “Alhaji Alabi Pasuma is my boss. He knows I’m loyal to him… We are one, so please don’t separate us,” he said.
Taye Currency explained that his words were misinterpreted, stating, “People who misunderstood my comments should not be angry. I sincerely apologize for what happened because people interpret words differently, and that’s what I have come to understand.” He acknowledged Pasuma’s stature in the industry, addressing him as “Arabanbi, Apesin, Oganla Fuji.”
Taye Currency, who began his music career as a teenager, credits Pasuma’s mentorship for his success. His apology reflects a desire to maintain a positive relationship with his industry mentor and colleague.
Taye Currency extended his apology to Pasuma’s fans club and his own fans, emphasizing unity. “To Pasuma’s fans club, I’m sorry; Taye Currency fans, one love. Alhaji Alao, please don’t be angry,” he said in Yoruba.
By apologizing and clarifying his intentions, Taye Currency seeks to put the controversy behind him and reaffirm his respect for Pasuma’s legacy in the Fuji music industry.
