Olusegun Osoba, former governor of Ogun State, has made a passionate appeal to Nigerians to forgive President Bola Tinubu’s shortcomings, assuring that he will deliver during his second tenure.
Speaking at the All Progressives Congress (APC) South West Zone Assembly meeting in Lagos, Osoba emphasized that Tinubu has the unwavering support of the Yoruba people, who believe in his ability to fulfill his campaign promises.
“The Yoruba leadership stands united behind Tinubu’s presidency and remains confident in his ability to deliver on his promises during his tenure,” Osoba declared. He reminded Nigerians that Tinubu’s presidency is a collective responsibility, saying, “Bola didn’t make himself the President of Nigeria; we did”.
Osoba’s statement comes at a time when President Tinubu is facing criticism for his handling of the country’s economic challenges. Despite winning the presidency with roughly 37% of the vote in February, Tinubu’s administration has been plagued by controversy and protests.
In a recent development, President Tinubu has urged Nigerians to shelve the planned ‘EndBadGovernance’ protest scheduled for next month, requesting them to wait for the government’s response to their concerns.
