State governors, federal lawmakers and ministers will be granted special slots in the 774,000 jobs the Nigerian government will be creating.
The selection committee of the Enhanced Special Public Works Program, which would be responsible for recruiting, confirmed this on Wednesday.
The board chairman in Bauchi, Sanusi Aliyu Kunde, gave the breakdown while inaugurating the state panel.
“Governors from all councils in the states will be given 40 persons each. Senators would also have 30 individuals allocated from only the local government areas in the senatorial district.
“If a principal officer of the National Assembly comes from your state, then he/she gets 40 slots in all the local government areas within his district.
“Members of the House of Representatives will be given 25 slots within their districts from areas of local government. The House ‘s key officers will have 30 slots. The ministers should be given 30 slots from all of the state’s local government areas, “Kunde said.
He noted that the committee should take a vote on the vacancies for the State legislators.
Kunde also said he was inaugurated on June 29, 2020 by the Minister of State for Labor, Festus Keyamo (SAN), to choose from the 20 councils of the state of Bauchi.
“We ‘re going to hire 20,000 people for this initiative in total.
“We are expected to include about 200 literate individuals in each local government area who will be used to perform national surveys during the engagement period.”
The hires will work between October and December 2020 and receive N60,000 a month, according to Kunde.
