In a move that is expected to bring relief to motorists and marketers, Dangote Refinery has announced a reduction in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol.
According to a statement by the spokesperson of Dangote Group, Anthony Chiejina, the refinery has slashed the petrol price by N20, from N990 per litre to N970 per litre for marketers.
The reduction in price is a welcome development, especially considering that fuel is currently sold across Nigerian filling stations between N1060 and N1,115 per litre. The move is seen as a demonstration of the refinery’s commitment to supporting the Nigerian economy and providing relief to consumers.
In the statement, Chiejina explained that the price reduction is a way of appreciating the support of Nigerians and the government in making the refinery a reality. “Dangote Petroleum Refinery has affected a reduction in the prevailing price of its Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from N990/litre to N970/litre for the marketers.
“As the year comes to an end, this is our way of appreciating the good people of Nigeria for their unwavering support in making the refinery a dream come true. In addition, this is to thank the government for its support, as this will complement the measures put in place to encourage domestic enterprise for our collective well-being.
The refinery has assured that it will not compromise on the quality and standard of its product, while also ramping up production to meet domestic fuel consumption. “While the refinery would not compromise on the quality of its petroleum products, We assure you of the best quality products that are environmentally friendly and sustainable.
