A somber atmosphere pervaded Mera village in Augie Local Government Area of Kebbi State as 15 victims of the devastating Lakurawa terror group attack received a mass burial.
The funeral prayer drew top dignitaries, including Deputy Governor Umar Tafida, Commissioner of Police, and Emir of Argungu HRH Isma’ila Mera.
Tafida conveyed the Governor’s solidarity with the bereaved families, pledging collaboration with security agencies to prevent future incidents. Emir Mera urged unity and resilience, calling on security agencies to intensify efforts for community safety.
The funeral prayer included heartfelt pleas for peace and the repose of the departed souls. The government reassured citizens of ongoing efforts to protect lives and prevent future tragedies, committing to strengthen regional security and stability.
