Nigerian music stars have made a sweeping statement at the 67th Grammy Awards nominations, occupying all but one spot in the Best African Music Performance category.
The nominees were announced on Friday, November 8.

American artist Chris Brown made the cut with his song “Sensational,” featuring Nigerian stars Davido and Lojay.
Rema and Tems also secured nominations in the Best Global Music Album category for their albums “HEIS” and “Born In The Wild,” respectively. They will compete against:
– Matt B and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra – “Alkebulan II”
– Ciro Hurtado – “Paisajes”
– Antonio Rey – “Historias De Un Flamenco”
Tems bagged an additional nomination in the Best R&B Song category for her song “Burning,” facing competition from:
– Kehlani – “After Hours”
– Coco Jones – “Here We Go (Uh Oh)”
– Muni Long – “Ruined Me”
– SZA – “Saturn”
This achievement follows Tyla’s win in the maiden Best African Music Performance category at the 66th Grammys for her song “Water.”
The 67th Grammy Awards will hold on February 2, 2025, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
