The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) conducted a mock accreditation exercise yesterday in preparation for the November 16 governorship election in Ondo State.
The exercise, monitored by INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, State Resident Electoral Commissioner Mrs. Oluwatoyin Babalola, and other officials, aimed to test the functionality of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS).

Prof. Yakubu expressed satisfaction with the exercise, stating, “We can’t take readiness for granted. That’s why, as part of our preparations, we decided to conduct a mock accreditation exercise to further test the functionality of the machines.” He appealed to stakeholders to maintain peace, ensuring a successful election.
Mrs. Adebimpe Bankole, accredited at Alagbaka Primary School, praised the exercise, saying, “I am satisfied with the process because I didn’t waste any time before I could do my accreditation. The process is very fast.”
With the mock accreditation exercise complete, INEC is poised to deliver a free and fair governorship election in Ondo State on November 16.
