The Ekiti State judiciary has been plunged into mourning following the passing of Chief Judge Oyewole Adeyeye, who died after a brief illness.
The sad news was confirmed by the Chief Registrar, Olanike Adegoke, on Tuesday.
Adegoke paid tribute to the late Chief Judge, describing him as “a respected jurist who dedicated his life to upholding the principles of fairness, equity, and justice.” She further eulogized, “The contributions of the late CJ to the judiciary and Ekiti State as a whole are immeasurable. His legacy will be deeply missed.”
Born in 1960 in Araromi Ugbesi, Ekiti East Local Government Area, Justice Adeyeye was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1986. He served as Chief Judge of Ekiti State from October 2021 until his passing, leaving behind a legacy of distinction and dedication.
The Association of International Female Lawyers (FIDA) in Ekiti has released a heartfelt condolence message, honoring Adeyeye’s legacy and offering support to his family. “May he find rest with his maker. I pray that God grants the family, the Judiciary, and the people of Ekiti State the grace to bear this irreparable loss. Adieu great one.”
As the Ekiti State judiciary and beyond come to terms with this loss, memories of Justice Adeyeye’s commitment to justice and fairness will continue to inspire and guide those who follow in his footsteps.
