In a significant development in his administration’s restructuring efforts, President Bola Tinubu has sworn in seven new ministers at the Council Chamber of the State House in Abuja.
The swearing-in ceremony took place on November 4, 2024, following the Senate’s confirmation of the nominees on October 31.
The seven new ministers were divided into two batches for the oath-taking ceremony. The first batch consisted of:
– _Idi Maiha_, Minister of Livestock Development
– _Yusuf Ata_, Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development
– _Dr. Suwaiba Ahmad_, Minister of State, Education
– _Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu_, Minister of State, Foreign Affairs
The second batch included:
– _Dr. Jumoke Oduwole_, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment
– _Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda_, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction
– _Muhammadu Dingyadi_, Minister of Labour and Employment
This development follows a major cabinet reshuffle approved by President Tinubu on October 23, which involved the reassignment of 10 ministers to new portfolios, the dismissal of five others, and the nomination of seven new ministers for Senate confirmation. The President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, announced the swearing-in ceremony on his X handle.
