Controversial cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, alias Bobrisky, has left Nigeria just days after his release by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
In a series of Instagram videos, Bobrisky boasted about traveling first-class, saying, “See you soon, Nigeria. This girl bought a first-class ticket three times; that’s over 30 million. Raise the bar for this girl.” He also joked about his passport photo, stating, “That passport disfigured my picture.”
Bobrisky’s departure follows a tumultuous week. He was removed from an Amsterdam-bound KLM flight at Murtala Muhammed International Airport and allegedly sustained injuries. The EFCC then questioned him regarding claims of bribing officials with N15 million to dismiss money laundering charges.
– Bobrisky was sentenced to six months in prison for naira abuse in April 2024.
– He spent only three weeks in Kirikiri Prison before being relocated to a private location.
– In September, an audio recording surfaced, allegedly featuring Bobrisky discussing bribery of EFCC officials.
– He was released on bail on Saturday after denying bribery allegations.
The EFCC had been investigating Bobrisky for money laundering and bribery. His release on bail has sparked controversy, with many questioning the circumstances surrounding his departure from Nigeria.
Bobrisky’s current whereabouts remain unknown, but his social media posts suggest he is relishing his newfound freedom.
