Primeboy, the childhood friend of late singer Mohbad, has taken the Nigeria Police Force to court over alleged human rights violations.
He filed the lawsuit at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, on October 11, 2024, through his lawyer, Akinpelu Ogunbona.
The Lagos State Police Command had declared Primeboy wanted on October 4, 2023, for failing to honor an invitation related to Mohbad’s tragic death. However, Primeboy surrendered himself to the police the very next day. Now, he’s seeking a court order to have his name removed from the wanted list, citing the special police bulletin as a violation of his dignity and human rights.
According to Ogunbona, “Primeboy has sued the police via an originating motion filed on October 11 before the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, Lagos.” The lawsuit requests the court to declare the police bulletin contravening Primeboy’s right to dignity and respect, and to delist his name from the wanted list, among other prayers.
This development comes on the heels of Primeboy’s threat to sue Mohbad’s mother, Abosede Adeyemo-Aloba, for defamation. He had given her a seven-day ultimatum to retract her statements, which allegedly harmed his reputation and affected his relationship with fans.
