The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors, led by Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, rallied together in Ondo State on Tuesday, reaffirming their united front amidst recent national official removals and counter-removals.
Governor Adeleke, Chairman of the Ondo State Governorship Campaign Council, emphasized the PDP’s strength as one family, urging leaders to ensure unity and respect for the party’s constitution.
Adeleke charged Ondo electorates to vote for Agboola, stating, “Go out and cast your votes for Agboola. PDP remains one and the only alternative for a better today and tomorrow for Ondo people.” Governor Seyi Makinde echoed this message, urging Ondo people to demonstrate love for good governance by voting for the PDP candidate in the next polls.
The Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, Senator Bala Muhammed, announced that there is no longer any faction within the PDP. “There is no faction in the PDP. We are one. You can see how we are demonstrating love and unity. We are putting our house in order,” Muhammed stated. Acting Chairman Usman Damagun and former Ebonyi Governor Sam Egwu also urged electorates to vote for the PDP.
Egwu called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ensure democracy is not truncated in Nigeria by enforcing free and fair elections across the country. “Tinubu is now the father of all,” Egwu said, emphasizing that democracy is best strengthened when people’s will is allowed to prevail.
The PDP Governors’ Forum, established in 2013, aims to provide a platform for governors to interact and exchange knowledge, ideas, and experiences to move the party forward. With 13 current PDP state governors, the party remains committed to unity and strength.
