The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) has confirmed an investigation into allegations surrounding convicted cross-dresser Bobrisky’s accommodation.
Deputy Controller Abubakar Umar disclosed this in an interview, emphasizing the service’s commitment to rehabilitation and safety.
Umar explained that inmates undergo rigorous assessments to determine security risks, needs, and responsivity issues. “Upon conviction, inmates go through a process before admission, including a determination of security, needs assessment, and responsivity issues,” he said.
Social media influencer Very Dark Man published an audio recording allegedly featuring Bobrisky claiming he spent his jail term in a private apartment and paid N15 million to EFCC officials to drop money laundering charges. The Federal Government has inaugurated an independent investigative panel to probe these allegations.
Umar maintained that Bobrisky was allocated a cell based on his security and needs assessment. “He identified himself as male during court appearance and admission,” Umar added.
