Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has issued a severe weather warning, predicting thunderstorms across the country from Thursday to Saturday.
Residents in Adamawa, Taraba, Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, and Kaduna States should prepare for thunderstorms on Wednesday morning, with more storms expected in the afternoon.
– _North Central Region:_ Thunderstorms are expected in the Federal Capital Territory, Niger, Nasarawa, and Benue States on Wednesday morning, spreading to Kogi, Kwara, Plateau, and Nasarawa States by afternoon.
– _Southern Region:_ Ondo, Ebonyi, Edo, Delta, Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River States will experience thunderstorms on Wednesday morning, with more storms forecasted for the entire region by evening.
– _Northern Region:_ Adamawa, Taraba, and Kebbi States will face thunderstorms on Thursday morning, while Kaduna, Katsina, Kebbi, Taraba, Sokoto, and Zamfara States will be affected by afternoon.
Friday’s Forecast:
– _Northern Region:_ Zamfara, Sokoto, and Kebbi States will experience thunderstorms in the morning, followed by cloudy skies with sunshine intervals.
– _North Central Region:_ Nasarawa, Kogi, Kwara, Niger, and the Federal Capital Territory will face thunderstorms in the morning and afternoon.
– _Southern Region:_ Ondo, Osun, Ogun, Edo, Delta, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, and Rivers will experience thunderstorms in the morning.
