Nigeria’s Independence Day was marked by protests across the country, including in Abuja.
The #FearlessInOctober demonstration, a continuation of the #EndBadGovernance movement, aimed to highlight economic hardship faced by Nigerians.
Protesters converged at Utako Market as early as 7 am on Tuesday. However, police officers promptly dispersed the crowd at 8:54 am.
Similar protests occurred in other parts of the country, including Lagos, where former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore joined demonstrators.
