The Nigerian Army has dealt significant blows to terrorist groups across the country, neutralizing eight terrorists and rescuing 40 abducted individuals in a series of coordinated operations.
These recent successes have tightened the noose around unrepentant terrorists and their collaborators, according to an official Army post.
In Nasarawa State, troops conducted a strategic stop-and-search operation along the Lafia-Keffi Road on September 28, arresting a notorious arms courier with 303 live rounds of 7.62mm ammunition. Further investigations are ongoing to apprehend accomplices.
In Kaduna State, precision strikes eliminated one terrorist in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area. Additional engagements in Ankwa village, Kachia Local Government Area, annihilated two more terrorists and recovered a locally made firearm, ammunition, and a motorcycle.
Troops encountered fleeing terrorists in Borno’s Magumeri Local Government Area, recovering two AK-47 rifles, 61 rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition, 51 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, hard drugs, and various supplies. Terrorists abandoned these items due to superior troop firepower.
In Gwoza Local Government Area, troops neutralized three terrorists near Ashigashiya village and seized three vehicles loaded with food supplies intended for terrorist camps, recovering N2,400. In Kukawa Local Government Area, troops intercepted terrorists relocating abducted victims from Cijin village, rescuing 38 hostages, including six men, eight women, and 24 children.
