In a landmark ceremony held at the Council Chamber of the State House, Abuja, President Bola Tinubu swore in Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as the 23rd substantive Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN).
This significant milestone marks Kekere-Ekun’s confirmation by the Senate on September 25, 2024.
Justice Kekere-Ekun succeeds Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, who retired on August 22, 2024, after attaining the mandatory retirement age of 70 years. Notably, Kekere-Ekun had previously taken the oath of office in an acting capacity on August 23, 2024.
