The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has slammed the unauthorized use of its operational gear in comedy skits, particularly in the viral video “EFCC and Army Wahala.”
In a statement, the EFCC expressed deep concern over the misrepresentation of its operatives, describing the portrayal as a “caricature” that casts shadows on the commission’s image.
The EFCC emphasized that its agents are trained, refined, and respectful, contrary to the video’s depiction. “Operatives of the EFCC are not bullies… They are trained as modern law enforcement officers rich in decency, civility and respect.”
The EFCC issued a stern warning to skit makers, stating, “Skit makers are warned again to desist from unauthorized use of the accoutrements of the Commission.”
