Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has fired back at Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, labeling him a “frustrated politician” over his threat to cause chaos in states governed by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors.
Wike’s threat came after PDP governors showed solidarity with Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
Mohammed’s response was delivered while receiving members of the PDP National Working Committee in Bauchi, where he emphasized that in-party disagreements should not be misinterpreted as personal attacks. He confidently asserted that Bauchi is resilient enough to handle any challenges, downplaying Wike’s comments as a product of frustration.
Mohammed clarified that his friendship with Wike remains intact, despite their political differences. He emphasized the importance of unity within the PDP to prevent the party’s collapse, acknowledging PDP’s significant contributions to the country’s development.
The National Legal Advisor of the PDP, Kamaldeen Ajibade Adeyemi, also pledged the National Working Committee’s support for the governor, ensuring they will implement any decisions made by the Governors’ Forum.
This isn’t Mohammed’s first time in the spotlight. As a ranking member of the opposition PDP, he has served as governor of Bauchi State since 2019, previously holding positions as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and Senator for Bauchi South.
