The Lagos State Government has taken drastic action against Donalds, a popular restaurant in the Lekki area owned by nightlife businessman, Cubana Chiefpriest.
The restaurant was sealed by the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) due to noise pollution and other environmental infractions.
According to the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, the decision was made after repeated warnings to the management of the restaurant. Wahab confirmed the development on Sunday, stating that the agency had no choice but to take action.
“After several warnings and abatement notices, the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency @LasepaOfficial sealed Donald’s Fast Food on Adebayo Doherty Street, Lekki 1 over noise pollution and other environmental infractions,” Wahab wrote.
The sudden closure of the restaurant comes barely a month after its grand opening, sparking concerns among business owners and residents in the area. The Lagos State Government’s crackdown on noise pollution and environmental infractions is aimed at maintaining a safe and healthy environment for citizens.
Cubana Chiefpriest’s restaurant is the latest high-profile establishment to be affected by the government’s enforcement of environmental regulations. The development serves as a warning to other businesses to adhere to environmental standards and regulations.
