The Labour Party’s National Working Committee, led by Julius Abure, has petitioned the National Security Adviser and Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to probe alleged misappropriation of 2023 presidential campaign funds.
Allegations:
The party accuses Aisha Yesufu, Pastor Itua Ighodalo, Peter Obi, and Afenifere leaders of diverting over N12bn and $15m in donations.
Call for Transparency:
Labour Party’s National Publicity Secretary, Abayomi Arabambi, urged an investigation into all bank accounts linked to the alleged misconduct.
“The trio of Pa Ayo Adebanjo, Akin Osuntokun, and Sola Ebiseni were involved in financial infractions totaling over ₦600m, which they have kept in private accounts and Afenifere accounts.”
Response:
National Coordinator of the Obedient Movement, Dr. Yunisa Tanko, described the allegations as “unfounded” and “false.”
Afenifere’s Deputy Leader, Oba Oladipo Olaitan, said he was unaware of the allegations but promised a response if necessary.

The allegations highlight internal conflicts within the Labour Party, with Arabambi accusing Yesufu and associates of acting under Obi’s direction to defraud the party.
