The Kogi State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has demanded the immediate suspension of Senator Dino Melaye for declaring the party “dead”.
The party’s elders, led by Alhaji Ibrahim Dansofo, stated that Melaye’s outburst was a burden to the party and hypocritical, given his own history of failing to secure even a local councilor position.
The Kogi PDP attributed the party’s current struggles to Melaye’s nomination, describing it as a significant misstep. They claimed that Melaye’s inability to win even a primary election led to the party’s present predicament.
The party urged former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to reevaluate their support for Melaye, describing him as a “bondage” and a “big-time liability” for the party. They called on the leaders to distance themselves from Melaye to restore the party’s integrity and focus on viable leadership.
