A shocking incident has unfolded in Cross River State, where a young woman, Pretty Goddess, allegedly lured her friend, Debit Queen, to a hotel and subjected her to a brutal assault.
The attack, which has sparked widespread outrage, was reportedly over Pretty Goddess’s boyfriend, Ralph.
Debit Queen, recounting her harrowing experience, denied allegations of infidelity and claimed she was unaware of the conflict with Pretty Goddess’s boyfriend. “I know him, but he’s not my friend. I haven’t seen him before. I didn’t sleep with him. It’s untrue that I was caught sleeping with her boyfriend,” she asserted.
Pretty Goddess admitted to luring Debit Queen to the hotel and subjecting her to physical assault, claiming she was driven by anger upon discovering Debit Queen’s contact with her boyfriend. “I didn’t plan to beat her up. It was anger. All I wanted to know was if she had my boyfriend’s number,” she explained.
The Cross River State Police have ordered an immediate investigation and called for the perpetrator’s arrest. Commissioner Augustine Grimah condemned the act, stating that it involved severe physical assault and trauma.
The incident has ignited a fierce reaction on social media platforms, with many users expressing outrage over the brutal nature of the assault and the public humiliation suffered by Debit Queen. Calls for legal action and condemnation of Pretty Goddess’s actions have dominated the online discourse.
Human rights lawyer Mrs. Selena Onuoha stated that Pretty Goddess’s actions could be classified as assault under Nigerian law, with potential penalties ranging from fines to imprisonment. Debit Queen may also seek civil remedies, such as compensation for the harm suffered.
