A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Mr. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has called on President Bola Tinubu to intervene in the persistent fuel scarcity crisis plaguing the country.
Oyintiloye lamented that despite the removal of fuel subsidy, the situation has worsened, causing Nigerians to face untold hardships in accessing the product at exorbitant prices.
He appealed to the President to investigate the activities of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) to determine the causes of the fuel scarcity. Oyintiloye stated, “I want to appeal to the president to come to the rescue of Nigerians who are passing through untold hardship due to fuel scarcity.”
To address the challenge, Oyintiloye urged President Tinubu to revamp government refineries to stabilize the cost of fuel. He emphasized that fuel scarcity has become a normal routine in Nigeria, which is unacceptable.
Oyintiloye highlighted the struggles Nigerians face in accessing fuel, saying, “For the past few weeks now, Nigerians have been sleeping in filling stations across the country in a bid to get fuel for their businesses and vehicles.”
