In a landmark ruling, the Supreme Court on Friday validated the re-election of Bayelsa State Governor, Duoye Diri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
A five-member panel of the apex court unanimously dismissed the appeal filed by Timipre Sylva, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), challenging the November 11, 2023, gubernatorial election.
The Supreme Court’s decision confirms the legitimacy of Governor Diri’s re-election, putting to rest any doubts or controversies surrounding the poll.
