Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has declared his intention to remain in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) despite the ongoing internal crisis.
Wike, marking his first anniversary as FCT minister, stated that he would not abandon the party, but rather stay and fight for his principles.
Wike emphasized that he had the option to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) if he desired, but chose to maintain his integrity by refusing to support the PDP presidential candidate in the 2023 elections. He noted that he still delivered wins for the PDP in Rivers State.
Wike highlighted his commitment to his principles, stating that he would not compromise on his values. He questioned the credibility of those calling for his exit, asking if they had contributed to the party’s success.
The minister’s stance is seen as a bold move, as he confronts the “vampires” within the party. His refusal to back down has sparked debate, with some hailing his courage and others criticizing his approach.
Wike’s legacy in Rivers State is marked by his unwavering commitment to his principles. His decision to stay in the PDP and fight for his values has cemented his position as a key player in the party.
