A devastating incident has occurred in Gwarzo Local Government Area of Kano State, where six family members lost their lives after consuming a suspected contaminated local delicacy, Danwake.
The victims, including a widow, Alhakatu Abdulkarim, and her five children, were rushed to Gwarzo General Hospital, where they were confirmed dead by doctors. The tragic incident has left the community in shock.
The Kano State Police Command has launched an investigation into the mysterious deaths. Spokesman Abdullahi Haruna stated, “We are still waiting for the medical report from the hospital to ascertain the cause of the death of the six persons.”
The incident is believed to have occurred after the widow used expired cassava flour to prepare the food, highlighting the importance of food safety and proper storage.
