Following Chelsea’s 2-0 defeat to Manchester City on Sunday, manager Enzo Maresca hailed the Citizens as the best team in the world.
Erling Haaland and Mateo Kovacic scored the goals that gave Pep Guardiola’s side a comfortable win at Stamford Bridge, leaving Chelsea to regroup for their next Premier League match.
Despite the loss, Maresca was impressed with his team’s performance, stating, “I think the performance was good. We competed against the best team in the world. For parts of the game, we were at the same level. For parts, we were better.”
The Blues will aim to return to winning ways when they face Wolves in their next Premier League match on Sunday.
