A daring kidnapping operation was carried out in Nkpologwu, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, on Sunday morning, resulting in the abduction of three persons, including a lawyer.
Eyewitnesses reported that the gunmen stormed the community between 7:30 am and 8:00 am, leaving a trail of chaos and destruction. A video trending on social media shows a somersaulted vehicle along the Nkpologwu-Akpo Road, believed to belong to one of the victims.
Prof. Ferdinand Ezeiruaku, President General of Nkpologwu Community, confirmed the incident, stating that the three men were kidnapped at different locations in the community by heavily-armed men. The victims, two of whom are based in Abuja and one in Port Harcourt, had returned to the community to attend an event organized by the local women’s group.
Ezeiruaku expressed concern for the victims’ safety and urged the public to pray for their safe release. The Anambra State Police Command has yet to comment on the incident, as efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ikenga Tochukwu, were unsuccessful.
