Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South Senatorial District, has expressed regret over his public criticisms of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja after a closed-door meeting with the APC National Working Committee, Ndume acknowledged that he should have addressed his concerns within the party rather than taking them public.
Ndume, who was relieved of his role as Senate Chief Whip due to his criticisms, stated that he spoke the truth but should have done so within the party. He assured that he would seek clearance from the party before speaking out in the future.
The APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, confirmed that Ndume had apologized and been forgiven, describing the issue as a “family matter” that had been resolved.
Ndume denied speculation that his membership had been withdrawn, stating that the party was his “father” and he had no intention of leaving. He also clarified that he had not insulted the President or the party, and therefore saw no need to apologize to them.
The APC has written to the National Assembly to convey the resolution of the issue, with Ganduje expressing satisfaction with Ndume’s apology.
