Controversial cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, aka Bobrisky, has been released from the Kirikiri Correctional Centre in Lagos State after serving a six-month prison sentence.
Bobrisky was jailed for Naira abuse by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos.
Upon his release, Bobrisky was greeted by fans and warned Nigerians to obey the laws of the country and respect the Naira. “Don’t spray money, or you will become a landlord in Kirikiri,” he said. “Something light as spraying of Naira can take you to prison.”
Reactions have trailed Bobrisky’s release, with some netizens expressing surprise and others congratulating him. @toolzmoney wrote, “Una sure say this guy go prison??” while @OloriSupergal posted, “Bobrisky aka Mummy of Laygurrrrrrsssss is back!!!!”
Others, like @ChiomaChuka, described Bobrisky’s incarceration as “unjust, heavy-handed, and targeted,” noting that politicians and their families have also abused the Naira without facing consequences.
Bobrisky has chosen to focus on positive energy, expressing gratitude to friends and loved ones who supported him during his imprisonment.
