A chilling discovery has been made in the heart of Uganda, where 17 human skulls were found buried in metal boxes at a suspected shrine.
The gruesome find was made by children foraging for firewood outside Kabanga village, near Mpigi town, approximately 40 kilometers west of Kampala.
According to regional police spokesman Majid Karim, “We swiftly moved in and dug up the place, and so far we have recovered 17 human skulls.” The remains are currently being examined to determine their age, sex, and when they may have been buried.
The discovery has left residents in shock, with some linking the site to a separate murder case involving the killing of prominent traditional Baganda leader, Daniel Bbosa. The suspected owner of the site is currently on the run.
Police are urging the public to remain calm as they investigate the circumstances surrounding the recovery of the skulls. “We will investigate the matter to establish who could be behind this act,” Karim said.
The Mpigi district, where the discovery was made, is a semi-rural area with a strong focus on agriculture. The shocking find has raised questions about the dark secrets that may be lurking beneath the surface of this seemingly tranquil region.
