A devastating attack on Jakana Police Station in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State has left a policeman and a woman dead, with arms and ammunition carted away by Boko Haram terrorists.
The terrorists ambushed security operatives at the police station around 1:00 am, engaging in a fierce gun duel until 3:00 am. Security sources revealed that the insurgents overpowered the officers, gaining access to the station and looting arms and ammunition.
The attack also resulted in the destruction of two patrol vehicles and a motorcycle. A security source stated, “They overpowered them and gained access into the police station and looted arms and ammunition and destroyed 2 patrol vehicles.”
Konduga Local Government Chairman, Hon Abbas Ali Abari, confirmed the incident, promising to release more details soon. However, the Borno State Police Command is yet to issue a statement regarding the attack.
