Reinstated Edo Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, has opened up on his governorship ambition and feud with Governor Godwin Obaseki, describing him as a dictator.
Shaibu, who defected from PDP to APC, revealed that Obaseki’s threat to destroy him solidified his resolve to contest.
He maintained that he won the Edo PDP governorship primary with 381 delegates but was shut out of the venue.
Shaibu expressed feeling betrayed by Obaseki despite his loyalty and sacrifices, stating that he wants to prove internal democracy must be respected.
He denied claims of taking 22 official vehicles after his impeachment, stating that Obaseki only bought one official car for his convoy in seven and a half years.
Shaibu hinted at forgiving Obaseki, citing the importance of loving one’s neighbor as oneself.
In a separate development, Shaibu visited the APC National Working Committee in Abuja, where he spoke extensively on his political journey and feud with Obaseki.
