The family of late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad, has conducted a fresh autopsy to determine the cause of his death, following a court order.
The Coroner Court in Ikorodu, Lagos State, granted the order for an independent autopsy, to be conducted by a licensed pathologist, at the family’s expense.
The procedure was conducted on July 19 and 20, witnessed by Mohbad’s father, two pathologists, and legal representatives.
If the cause of death is not determined from the initial examination, toxicology and histology tests will be conducted on necessary samples.
Mohbad’s death on September 12, 2023, sparked controversy, with circumstances surrounding his death unclear.
A 13-man special investigation team was set up by the Lagos State Police Command to probe the singer’s death, leading to arrests, including Naira Marley and Sam Larry.
A previous autopsy could not determine the cause of death due to decomposition, with a US-based lab refuting claims that a toxicology test was conducted at its facility.
