The Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Retired Brig-Gen. Buba Marwa, has cautioned youths against the dangers of illicit drugs consumption and trafficking.
Marwa, represented by Zonal Commander Zone C, Mr. Hassan Sakaba, inaugurated the agency’s new Zonal Office in Ayingba, Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi, to tackle drug abuses and trafficking in the North Central region.
Marwa urged Kogi residents to join the agency’s fight against illicit drugs, saying, “As patriots and concerned citizens, we should rise to the occasion to ensure that we fight against the menace to keep our youths safe and sound.”
He emphasized the devastating impact of illicit drugs on young lives, stating, “Illicit drugs are cutting short lives of our children, very promising children, who are our future leaders. We must therefore not allow that to happen.”
The NDLEA boss stressed the importance of community involvement in the fight against drug abuse, encouraging residents to collaborate with the agency to save the youths from destruction.
