Former US President Donald Trump has slammed his successor, Joe Biden, following his withdrawal from the 2024 presidential election.
Trump claimed that Biden was only able to become president through lies and fake news, and was never fit for the role.
In a statement on his Truth Social handle, Trump said: “Crooked Joe Biden was not fit to run for President, and is certainly not fit to serve – And never was! He only attained the position of President by lies, Fake News, and not leaving his Basement.”
Trump also attacked Biden’s record in office, citing the influx of migrants at the border and the threat of terrorism. He vowed to “remedy the damage” done by Biden’s presidency and repeated his campaign slogan: “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
Biden had announced his withdrawal from the election on Sunday, citing the need to unite his party and put the interests of Americans first. However, Trump’s comments suggest that the former president remains a polarizing figure in US politics.
