President Bola Tinubu has extended his warm congratulations to the newly elected President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Afam Osigwe (SAN).
This comes after Osigwe’s victory in the 2024 NBA election, which saw him emerge as the president-elect with over 20,000 votes.
Osigwe, a former NBA general secretary, defeated his closest rivals, Tobenna Erojikwe and Chukwuka Ikwuazom (SAN), who secured 10,998 and 9,018 votes respectively.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu commended the outgoing NBA President, Yakubu Maikyau (SAN), on his stewardship and assured the new leadership of his administration’s support in addressing challenges facing the association and the legal profession.
“The President also congratulates all newly elected officers of the NBA and members of the association on a successful conduct of the elections. President Tinubu commends the outgoing NBA President, Mr. Yakubu Maikyau (SAN), on his stewardship of Nigeria’s foremost legal association.”
